e.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls Review

e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls

As you can see from my previous makeup reviews, I’m a die-hard fan of e.l.f. Cosmetics. The fact that they’re cruelty-free and so affordable makes them way ahead of so many makeup brands out there. Today I’m going to review the e.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls which is one of the makeup products that’s ALWAYS in my makeup pouch. So let’s get to this quick review, shall we? 🙂

Price and Packaging
At just 3 Dollars, this is the most affordable baked highlighter that I have ever owned. The packaging isn’t that great and is a little cheap looking but I shouldn’t even be complaining keeping the price point in mind! You might want to be a little careful and not drop this highlighter because it will break for sure.

Texture
Moonlight Pearls is a beautiful pearl colored highlighter which adds a very natural dewy look to the skin. The texture is super smooth to touch and has a satin finish to it. What I love the most about this is that the shimmer in the highlighter is not super chunky like my Jeffree Star Highlighter.

Color Pay-off and Staying Power
The color pay-off is brilliant in just one swipe of the product. You can apply this highlighter both dry as well as wet. I usually use my e.l.f Mist and Set Spray on my highlighter brush and dip it into the product. Also, the product doesn’t clump up when used with a wet brush.

The staying power is not the greatest on my combination-oily skin but it stays in place for a good 3-4 hours before re-touching. I love how the shimmer doesn’t travel all over my face and how lightweight this highlighter feels on my skin. It’s perfect for a natural dewy makeup look.

What I Love About this highlighter
This highlighter did not break me out, it blended out perfectly on my skin and works for both day as well as night time makeup looks. It adds a natural dewy skin look without excessive shimmer which I love oh so much! ? Not just that, it’s a cheaper dupe for my theBalm Cosmetics – Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter! 😀

So, here’s why you should purchase this baked highlighter –

  • The pearl shade is perfect for a natural dewy skin look
  • Not very shimmery; perfect for daytime makeup looks
  • Can be used both dry as well as wet
  • Decent staying power of around 3-4 hours before re-touching
  • Super affordable at just $3! 😀
  • Cruelty free makeup!

I use elf highlighter too but I don’t know why only the colour stain is seen when I apply it on my cheekbone. The shine is not visible at all ? I also tried scratching off the top layer of the highlighter then apply it but to vain!
BTW… love your posts!! Good luck and keep th coming ?

      Hey Nish!
A lot of beauty bloggers mentioned scratching off the top layer but I didn’t do any of that and it surprisingly worked fine for me. 😀 Maybe its because of the difference in skin tones?
Thanks for the feedback! Big hugsss! 🙂
